Email Editor Overview
The Email Editor add-on lets you design the emails Benecaster sends without touching a template file, and send one-off messages to your listeners. You work in blocks: add them, drag them into order and type your own wording.
Buy it from its shop page, install it like any other add-on (see Installing Add-ons), and switch it on for the shows you want under Benecaster → Settings → Add-ons → the Email Editor card → Active on.
Switching it on changes no email. Your emails keep going out as they do now until you save a design or branding. An email you never touch keeps following Benecaster’s own template, or your theme’s override if you have one.
Where It Is
While Email Editor is on for at least one show, Email Editor appears in the left menu of the Benecaster admin. On a show where it is off, you see a notice instead. It has three tabs:
- Templates lists every email you can design. See Managing Templates.
- Settings sets the colors, font, logo, header and footer around every email from this show. See Branding.
- Broadcasts sends a one-off email to your listeners. See Sending Broadcasts.
Each Show Has Its Own Designs
Each show has its own templates and branding. A show with nothing saved for an email sends Benecaster’s template or your theme’s override, never another show’s design.
Some email goes out with no show attached, such as email address verification. Design email sent with no show, on the Templates tab, and Brand email sent with no show, on the Settings tab, open a separate site-wide design for those. It’s used whenever the add-on is on for at least one show.
A show with Email Editor switched off sends Benecaster’s templates. Its designs are kept, and come back when you switch it on again.
What Comes With It
- The merge tag library, which offers the tags each email can use as you type.
- Preview and test send, including with your unsaved edits.
- Earlier versions of every design, and Reset to default.
- Import and export of a show’s designs.
- Data export sheets for your broadcast history and opt-out list.
The Tour
Email Editor Tour is offered once Email Editor is on for one of your shows. It shows you the list of emails, the canvas, the merge tags and the test send, and skips any show where the add-on is off.
Deleting the Add-on
Deleting the plugin removes its designs only when Benecaster’s Delete all data on uninstall is on. Otherwise they stay, and return if you install it again.
