Exporting Analytics Data
Analytics Dashboard data can leave the screen three ways: a CSV of one panel, a PDF of the whole screen, or a sheet in your Your Data spreadsheet.
CSV of One Panel
Export CSV sits beside the title of every Analytics Dashboard panel: Subscriber growth by tier (plus Export donations CSV when donations show), Tier breakdown, Revenue by tier, Tier movement, Feed engagement by tier, Downloads by tier, Cohort retention, Migration funnel, and both boxes on the win-back page. A panel another add-on registers has no button.
The file holds what the panel shows: the same dates, the same Shows choice, and the same Tier where the panel applies it (growth, revenue, feed engagement and win-back).
- Filename:
{show}-{panel}-{from}-to-{to}.csv, withall-my-showsin place of the show under All my shows. Panels that show today’s state use today’s date instead of a range, and the win-back list islast-{n}-days-{today}. - Format: UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so spreadsheets read accents correctly. Days are UTC and tiers are named.
- Money is in each currency’s own decimals, beside its code, and is never added across currencies.
- Text that starts with
=,+,-or@is escaped, so a spreadsheet won’t run it as a formula.
If Analytics Dashboard is off for the show, the button says Analytics Dashboard is not switched on for this show.
The win-back list names people. Its file holds each listed person’s WordPress name and email. Keep it on your own machine, and treat it as personal data.
PDF of the Whole Screen
Export PDF, in the bar under the Analytics heading, downloads {show}-analytics-{from}-to-{to}.pdf: A4 pages under the same dates, Shows and Tier as the screen.
- Header: the show’s name and artwork (for one show, and only when the artwork is an image in your media library), the dates as UTC days, and the tier when you chose one.
- Body: each panel the screen shows, with its chart drawn: growth lines, tier breakdown with the Donations card, revenue (built-in membership only), tier movement, feed engagement bars, downloads with apps and the top 5 episodes, cohort retention, and the migration funnel when there is one. Money is in each currency’s own decimals.
- Footer: Powered by Benecaster · Made {UTC time} and Page n of m.
The charts are drawn on your server from the same data, so they are close equivalents rather than pictures of your screen. Making a PDF never fetches anything from the internet.
It needs the PHP extensions dom and mbstring. Without them the button says This server cannot make PDF files … Ask your host to turn them on.
Sheets in Your Data
Settings → Your Data gains five sheets, with the badge analytics-dashboard. See Exporting Your Data.
| Sheet | Holds | Offered |
|---|---|---|
| Subscriber Growth | Per day and tier | Always |
| Tier Movement | Counts per pair of tiers | Always |
| Episode Downloads | Top 100 episodes per day | Only when a show tracks downloads |
| Feed Engagement | As of today; the date range doesn’t apply | Always |
| Cohort Retention | The retention table, laid flat | Only with 60 days of history |
Every row starts with its show. Only shows where Analytics Dashboard is on are included, and archived shows are left out. All time starts at the show’s first recorded day. These sheets carry no subscriber identifiers, only counts. To see each individual tier change, use Benecaster’s own Subscription Events sheet.
