Date Ranges and Filtering
The Analytics Dashboard add-on’s toolbar, directly under the Analytics heading on Benecaster → Analytics, has three controls: Date range, Shows and Tier. Together they decide what each panel counts. This page covers each one. For the panels themselves, see Analytics Dashboard Overview.
Switching shows in Benecaster’s own show switcher puts all three back to their defaults.
Date Range
| Choice | Covers |
|---|---|
| Last 7 days | The last 7 days, today included |
| Last 30 days | The default |
| Last 90 days | The last 90 days, today included |
| Last 12 months | From the day after the same date a year ago, to today |
| Custom range | The days you choose in From and To, applied with Apply |
A quick range applies at once and always ends today. Every day is a UTC day, counted whole at both ends, so a day may start and end at a different hour from your own clock.
Custom range. A range that ends after today ends today. The toolbar refuses a range that:
- starts after today: The date range starts after today.
- ends before it starts: The date range ends before it starts.
- is longer than 3,660 days, about ten years: The date range is longer than 3,660 days.
What follows the range. Subscriber growth by tier, Tier breakdown, Tier movement, Downloads by tier and Cohort retention count the days in the range. Feed engagement by tier and Migration funnel always show the state as of now, and say so.
How the growth chart groups the days. One point per day for a range up to 92 days, per week up to 731 days, and per month beyond that.
Shows
This show (the default) counts only the show selected in Benecaster’s show switcher. All my shows adds up every published show where Analytics Dashboard is switched on.
- The shows it covers are named under the list, for example Covers 2 shows: A and B.
- Published shows it left out are counted, for example Left out: 1 show where Analytics Dashboard is switched off and 1 archived show. Drafts are never counted.
- A tier slug that several shows share is one row, so a Gold tier on two shows is added up as one.
- Downloads by tier adds up only the shows that track downloads, and says how many it left out.
Tier
All tiers (the default), then the show’s tiers, highest first by name. Under All my shows, the list holds every covered show’s tiers.
A chosen tier narrows Subscriber growth by tier and Feed engagement by tier. The other panels keep listing every tier and say The tier filter does not apply to this panel.
- After you change Shows, a tier that is no longer listed goes back to All tiers.
- A tier you deleted that still has history is drawn in the charts but is not offered in the list.
