Fires when a Stripe invoice.payment_failed webhook event is received for a built-in membership subscription. Does NOT revoke subscriber access — access is only revoked on subscription deletion.

Notes

$event is rendered at the Stripe API version of the podcaster's webhook endpoint, which can differ from the version Benecaster's own Stripe calls use. On an endpoint at 2025-03-31.basil or later, an invoice has no top-level subscription, payment_intent or charge. Use the $stripe_subscription_id argument, which Benecaster resolves from either shape, rather than reading those fields off $event.
