Filters whether a new follower of this show must confirm by email before the follow takes effect, whether they used [benecaster_follower_signup] or a podcaster added or imported them. Return a boolean. The value passed in is the show’s Ask new followers to confirm their email setting, which is off by default, and this filter has the last word over it. Return true and the signup sends a confirmation email instead of completing immediately — the follow finishes when the recipient clicks through. Return false and the follower is created there and then, and receives their welcome email with their feed URL.

The form’s on-screen response is deliberately identical either way, so a callback here changes what arrives by email, not what the visitor sees.
