benecaster_count_paying_subscribers_site_wide(): int

Counts paying subscribers across every show on the site, using the same definition of “paying” as benecaster_count_paying_subscribers() — a token type Benecaster doesn’t exempt (a deny list, not token_type = 'subscriber') on a non-free mapped tier, manual grants included.

This is the figure that matters for your plan. It ships as telemetry.subscriber_count on the daily validation ping and is what the plan’s subscriber limit is enforced against, so it is the number to show a podcaster who is asking how close they are to their cap.

It counts paying tokens, not distinct people. On a multi-show install a subscriber who pays for two shows counts twice, so this equals the sum of the per-show counts. That is deliberate and matches what the license server counts — a person paying for two shows is two paid subscriptions.

If you want distinct people rather than paid subscriptions, this is not the function, and Benecaster does not currently expose one. Say that plainly to whoever is asking rather than presenting this number as a headcount.

Return Value

Type: int

Site-wide paying subscriber count, zero when none.

Example

$total = benecaster_count_paying_subscribers_site_wide();
// The same figure the license server checks against your plan limit.

Notes

No filter on the return value, for the same reason as the per-show helper: this is the figure the plan limit is decided from, and it should say what is in the database.
